Two Run Modes: Continuous and Magic15

MeteonBot is kept simple on purpose. It has exactly two run modes, both running on the same brain — the same four-model forecast, the same edge maths, the same Claude check on every fill. The difference is not how trades are selected but how long the bot keeps running and whether it ever sells. Choose whichever fits how involved you want to be.

The shared brain (both modes)

Whichever mode you choose, every position has to clear the same bar: a blended GFS / ECMWF / UKMO / NWS forecast, a Normal-CDF probability compared against the market price for a genuine edge, a senior-meteorologist Claude review that can veto, a disciplined 22¢–84¢ entry band, one position per city per date, and Kelly-capped sizing. The selection is identical — the modes only differ in run behaviour.

● Continuous — the always-on trader
The bot trades for as long as you leave it running. New setups are opened as they appear, and the full exit engine is active: a five-minute grace window, stop-loss at −25%, hard stop at −50%, a trailing stop that arms only after real profit and 15+ minutes, and a profit target near resolution. It actively manages and sells positions to lock in gains or cut losers. Best for users who want maximum market coverage and are comfortable letting the engine run and manage trades on their behalf.

● Magic15 — fixed basket, then walk away
A capped, hands-off mode. The bot opens up to 15 positions and then automatically stops itself. It never sells — there is no trailing stop, no profit-taking, no stop-loss. Every one of the 15 is held until the market itself resolves, win or lose. The X/15 counter is live and slot-based: as markets resolve, their slots free up, and restarting the bot fills those slots back toward 15. Best for users who want a bounded, predictable amount of capital at risk and zero babysitting — place the basket, then simply wait for resolution. Example outcome: with a $500 bankroll, expect a minimum ~$75 profit per completed basket of 15 trades (~15% per batch) — the safest, most hands-off way to compound on MeteonBot.

Which one should you use?

  • Want it to keep working and manage exits for you? Continuous — it trades and actively takes profits / cuts losses until you stop it.
  • Want a fixed, known amount of risk and no churn? Magic15 — exposure is capped at 15 Kelly-sized positions, the bot turns itself off, and outcomes are decided by the markets settling rather than by an exit engine reacting to price noise.
  • New here? Magic15 is the gentler introduction: bounded risk, no over-trading, nothing to monitor.

Kelly-capped sizing (applies to both)

Position size scales with confidence and edge: a VERY_HIGH read with a 15%+ edge tops out at the maximum allocation, weaker reads scale down. Every fill is capped at 5% of bankroll and no single trade exceeds 15% of the remaining balance. This bounds total exposure up front and closed off the catastrophic-loss profile of the old flat-sizing approach — and in Magic15 it means your worst case is known the moment the basket is placed.
